Lead Youth Phase Development Coach - 15's/16's

Job Description


To deliver and lead the Coaching programme working alongside Lead Phase Development Coaches for the Academy football programme, to improve the technical/tactical/physical and psychological ability of players to progress them into the Senior Professional Development programme and 1 st team environment.

The successful candidate must have a good understanding of Academy Coaching within Foundation and Youth phases and desirably played football at the Professional Level.

This position would suit someone wishing to progress as far as possible into the professional game over a period of time whilst working within the philosophy and coaching principles of the club.


To assess, plan and deliver Coaching sessions to individual, small groups and teams on a daily basis when required by the coaching programme following the clubs syllabus.

To assess all Under 15/16s players abilities to set individual learning plans.

Assist in the monitoring of the Academy Technical and Tactical Coaching Syllabus, assisting, Head of Coaching , Assistant Academy Manager and Academy Manager,

Liaise with all age group coaches to identify the required collective and individual areas of technical development and skills for their specific ages.

Assist in all areas of the Technical/Tactical/Physical/Psychological Development Programme.

Monitor and report on individual player development through the player performance clock using PMA System

Monitor, review and measure the performance plan of the Academy ensuring its progression and success.

To integrate with all Academy department staff to deliver a holistic development programme for all players.

Assist the Head of Coaching in the Coaches CPD training programme.

Undertake enhancement of specific personal Qualifications and all CPD provided by the Club and regulatory bodies.

Undertake any reasonable request as set by the Academy Manager or Head of Coaching.


  • UEFA A Licence Award
  • Youth Advanced Award
  • Experience of working and Playing in a professional environment.
  • Working knowledge of EPPP & Youth Rule requirements.
  • Complete enhanced FA DBS.
  • BFAS (1 ST Basic 1 st Aid in Sport).
